I am in the market for a printer. I was wondering If anyone has any sugestions or recommendations. I don't want to make huge prints but up to A3 would be nice. Finally I would like to see my photos in the Adobe colorspace (and since it is not possible on my monitor, prints are the only way)
Thanks in advance.

Epson Stylus Photo 2200. I love it. Colors are beautiful and look like lab prints. Others like the Canon printers. Do a search on the forum to see what others like.

I use an Epson stylus photo 1290 (probably a different number in the USA) and im very pleased with it.
The Epson and Canon ranges tend to get the best reviews.
I have seen a lot of digital prints in the last few years and in practice you can't easily see which printer it was produced on.
Nobody looks at a print and says that was obviously done on an inferior printer.
Most of the modern printers are quite capable of doing a good quality job and the photographer and the settings they choose seem to make a lot more difference.

We just picked up the Canon i950. Beautiful prints. I love the way this thing is performing so far. I also like the idea I can buy individual colors instead of having to replace all the colors at once. We'll see if that really saves any money or not.

I have the Epson 2200 and I love this printer. The Epson is a top-notch printer. I am currently ordering the Lyson Cave bulk feed system for the printer witch will lower the per print cost for the ink. You can find the system at http://www.dtgweb.com. I think the Epson I way better than the canon printer. With the ink system that the Epson has is much better and will last a lot longer or so I think. I also think there is a lot more available options for the Epson VS. the canon. If you get the Epson you will be very happy trust me. Best of luck!

the Epson 1280 or the new 2200 are both awesome printers. the 2200 being the best of show. But the 1280 will print sale~able images for under 400 bucks.. :) It prints up to A3

The Canon i9100 has given me some awesome prints. It goes up to 13x19 and with some of my 10D photos they look like prints from film. I'm still a newbie though and hope to get even better results.

I absolutely love my Canon i950!!!!!!!!! :)
And for $250, it's just fantastic. I was considering the i9100, but decided that I could upload and order larger prints online since I don't get them that often.

Add me to the list of very satisfied Canon i950 users.
This is a great printer for the money and I have had zero problems with it.

I am not sure if you can put the canon in the Epson 2200 class of printer.

My wife calls my Epson 2200 the "Humvee" after the Hummer Vehicle. It takes up alot of room and weighs about 25 lbs. It's a great printer. The archival inks last much longer then others.
Evangelos, please let me know how your ink system works out.

I checked that link to the ink system. Very interesting. It looks extremely cool.
It also looks like the Mini Lab system uses an epson printer, at least the posted pic seems to give thata impression. No specs on it, though. I wonder what the difference is?
Here's the mini-lab link:
