Currently I am running a Ge-Force 4 Ti 4200, 64mb card and a Samsung Syncmaster magic 17" lcd. I am contemplating upgrading my graphics card to be able to see my pictures in the Adobe color space that they were recorded in.

I was wondering if anyone is using a matrox card and if anyone knows if the 10-bit color plug-in that comes with it will really let me see more shades on my LCD, or if I need a CRT to make it happen.

thank you.

In choosing Matrox you are looking in the right direction,. they are visually the best cards available :)

However,. your assumption is correct,. there will be very little if any benifit in making the switch if you use the LCD.

Also, I am a bit confused as to how the upgrade involves the Adobe 1998 color space? You should be able to view these images increased color gambit regardless of your graphics card. That G-force can display 32bit color no problem. (granted it won't look quite as nice as a matrox card)

If anything is currently limiting your color bit depth,. it has to be the monitor.
