I was a landscape virgin until today, this is my first try at landscape phtography.
I have always avoided landscapes as I am way to impatient to sit and wait for the right moment.
Well today I saw a storm in the sky, had my camera in my hand and decided to give it a try.
Well I had to convert to b/w as usual.
Marty
ps I have already been told the border sucks, but it was my first ever border and first ever landscape.....

Great first start! I love the atmosphere and the b&W conversion.

PS. You're right, the border does suck! :p It would have been just as good without a border, or perhaps a thin black line to frame

Nice shot Marty. I think your name in bold draws you in also, maybe try not making it so BOLD

Dan

Good try Dan,
I generally dont use border as I sometimes print my favourite shots.
But I agree, borders look good on the web.

Really nice landscape. I like the drama in the shot. Great way to lose your virginity.

To the contrary! Landscapes are waiting for YOU to find them. ;)

You should post this in the landscape forum.

Hey Mzamora,
I can't tell eveybody my secret locations...!!
Actually it was taken at North Head, Sydney. If you want to know the exact spot just let me know and I can supply directions.
And MattyB,
thanks for the great comments.
How far are you from the Great Ocean Road.?
That place is amazing, too many stunning places to shoot.
I actually flew them in a small plane last year to get some photos.
Got really sick as the pilot just kept banking/diving the plane to get the best angles to photograph. But if you have a stronger stomach, I highly recommend it.
Cheers
