Robert Davi shot at Collectormania in Milton Keynes last October.

Hope you like it C&C always welcome.

i think if his face were less grainy it would be awesome

I dunno...the grain is part of it. It makes it rough, raw and really plays on the lines in his face.
I have been trying to figure out who he reminds me of all day long. Maybe a plumper Tommy Lee Jones before the facelift? *bangs head*

I really like this portrait, including the grain. Was that something you added in processing? I very much like the B&W conversion. Care to share what you did?
If I could change anything at all, it would be where he is looking. I think I'd prefer him looking at the camera or at least a little more downward. But I think this is a very fine portrait.
Nice job!

He's an actor who's had quite a career. I'm sure you've seen some of his work. Look him up on imdb.com for further details.

Ah! I remember him in Showgirls! I could remember wardrobe and all, just couldn't remember where... Doh!

Thanks for all the comments guys, he's most famous for being a bond villian :-) but he's great in real life.
When I get in tonight I'll post a quick how I did it for those who are interested.
Once again thanks for the comments :)

Love the composition and the conversion.
I would like to see with a little less grain also.
But very arty/stylised portrait.
Great work.

I like it, but I can understand where the comments on the grain are coming from - I think the problem is that it's at a level where it's starting to take away some of the fine detail in the shot.
It works as is, but I'd love to see a "clean" version too (the subject, and your lighting and contrast would really suit a crisp mono conversion, imo).

Thanks for all the comments on the grain. It does seem that the jpg version here that has been resized for the web has a lot more grain than the print version it's taken from. I'll post another version this evening that has less grain and everyone can choose. :-)
