View Full Version : Issues with the Event Startup of ZoomBrowser

I'm using a Canon Powershot S45 to a Windows XP Home Edition computer via USB, and am not able to auto-launch ZoomBrowser on "Device Connected" event through the Event dialog interface. I have "Start this program" selected on the above-mentioned event. The PowerShot camera icon appears in the Scanners & Cameras menu after connection, but nothing happens afterwards! However, if I select "Prompt which program to run", and then select ZoomBrowser, it loads.

Everything else works fine with the software, including downloads, etc...

I have the WIA service running, and using WIA driver v5.0 from the install CD. Any suggestions?

Does it do the same thing in both PTP and normal communications settings in the camera?

Thanks for your response, JohnnyE...

Yes, the same thing happens in both the PTP and normal communications settings of the camera as far as not auto-launching ZoomBrowser; the only difference is the type of icon displayed in the "Scanners & Cameras" dialog which means (I guess) that the USB connection is working correctly.
