Be sure you announce any trips to California. You may get the chance to meet some of the friendliest photographers in the west.

I'll be in northern California june 10-18. My daughter and I will be flying into Portland OR on the 5th, then driving to Seattle, then down to San Francisco-then fly home to Miami.
Any great ideas on what to do/ what not to miss?

Wow that depends on what you want to see and how far you want to drive there is so much in the area . make sure you go see Dante .
if your daughter is 6- 15 there are a few no miss items ..the exploratorium
golden gate park and bridge . as far as photos its endless . Greg

...Fishermen's Wharf/Pier 39, Palace of Fine Arts (with the Exploratorium), Union Square, Alcatraz (book early for a better chance to go)...
...if you have some major time - Napa Valley, Silicon Valley (San Jose area), Monterey Peninsula...

30 miles south of SF is Filoli (http://www.filoli.org/)
My wife told me this was used for "Falcon Crest." (I dunno. I never watched the show.)

We'll be in Cali from June 20 to July 3. We're going to have 3 days in San Francisco (22-25) and then in Yosemite for 4 days (26-29).I'm hoping to get to Dante's for breakfast (and hoping he's not in Yosemite :) ) one day. Want to see Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, and whatever else my daughter wants to see. I know that I'm missing everyone in Yosemite by a day. Can't change that because my wife is attending a Handbell Ringer's Conference from Friday through Sunday. So I get 3 days in SF with my "little" girl (she's 18 ). Any must-see recommendations are welcome. She's not really into photography so I get to compromise on what we see and what we do.

My wife and I will be at Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP June 10th - 12th < checkout and move to Yosemite from the 12th until the 16th. We plan on doing some hiking out from Glacier Point a few of those days if the trails are passable and not too muddy. We're staying at the Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp starting the 12th.

I'm sure that is true. I'd really like to meet Skip & Maureen - that is, if they're not too worn out from their vacation and the POTN meet in Yosemite. Maybe you guys need a vacation to recover from your vacation.:lol:
