Well, I got a Hoya R72 Infrared filter, and figured I'd see what kind of success I'd have with the G2. I have to shoot in RAW, then use a custom white balance in the conversion, then some level and/or curve adjustments in PS.

I don't think it compares to what the G1 can do... but does this work? I don't really have anything else to go on... I only have a G2.

I would have a look at Don Ellis' gallery, but his has been modified, not to mention the fact that his photos make mine look like they were taken by a three year old :D

I'm basically wondering about the infrared filters performance, but feel free to critique any other aspects also. So..... what do you think?

Laz
That is one dramatic image.
It is sufficiently removed from reality to make it a very
striking and unusual photograph.
One very small suggestion, if I may.....

Whenever part of an image is very light and it is to be shown on a site with light background like Pekka's, it is not a bad idea
to put a thin dark border around the picture.
It tends to "hold in" the light area and stops it from giving
the image an incomplete appearance.

Here the bright clouds at the top make me feel that the thin black border
would enhance your already fine image.

Very well done

Great picture. I definitely like it better with the black border. The sky looks awsome.
