Anyone here using the pro service? Is it worth it? Any other options?
I've just completed shooting my first paid event & want to sell prints to the participants. I'm looking at a smugmug account to accomplish this.

I just upgraded from Standard to Pro because I wanted to sell pictures and make some customizations to my site. The Standard costs $39.95 and the Pro costs $149.95. I figured if I can't sell $110 worth of pictures per year I should just give it up.
You set the markup on yours pictures and receive 85% of that markup. Smugmug keeps 15% for administering the sale. I think that's fair. You must complete a W-9 for tax purposes before Smugmug will send you any money.
With the Pro account you can also put watermarks on your photos and use your own hostname although I don't do this. Plus you have unlimited traffic. They also have good support (http://www.dgrin.com/).
If you need a referral code, mine is w7inhfZdZ4we6.

RTMiller has it all right, I've been using their pro service for a couple of years now and never had a problem with it.
I've even bought prints for myself from them; they're reasonably fast, easy to use, and have good customer service if you mistakenly order the wrong thing and need to change it. (When placing my order I accidentally hit glossy instead of matte, I sent them an email with the change and they replied within 15 minutes.)

I use it and it works great. I like not worrying about if I upload too much. It's like an off site backup :)
My code too cip9LmTV2eYas for $5 if it helps.

Thanks. I guess it's time to take the plunge then.
