This picture was taken today when I traveled in the deserts of Southern California near Joshua Tree National Park. The camera used is the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with a 17-40 mm lens (at 37 mm) with F/11, ISO-100, and 1/250 sec exposure.

The turbines are used to generate electricity from the wind. There was a bit of photoshop to get the conversion to B&W a bit better. Please post your comments and suggestions!

What do you guys think about the contrail lines left by an airplane that was flying there before I took the picture? Should I phoshop it out?

I think this is a good shot and looks great in B&W....but wasnt sure about the contrail line either. As it lines up with the hub on the windmill its probably OK, but I would also take it out and see how it looks (my guess is leaving it out will be the better shot).

BTW, it took me nearly 50 shots to get the composition that I was looking for. Sigh... maybe one day I will have a better "batting average"

I'd like to see the streaks cloned out, other than that, I dig the shot.

i think its great and so well suited to black and white.....was it windy enough for the blades to move ....would of added that little bit more to the shot if there was some blur in the blades
