I'm 3 weeks new with the RebelXT. All the shots here are with a one day old 70-200 F4. I'm pretty proud of them being my first outing but see plenty of room for improvement. Keep in mind the lighting was terrible, no flash allowed, I did use a mono-pod on every shot. The little blonde that's a tad out of focus is my girl so I had to put hers in.
I currently have Paintshop pro but will likely be going to CS2.
All comments are welcome.
Thanks in advance, I need some tips.
BTW - I was shooting from about the 5th row.

Robert, I would have been much more likely to follow your link off into the web if I had a decent idea of what I would be clicking and loading, etc., etc. by seeing a few images embedded in your post. If it is not worth your time to embed some images then it probably isn't worth it, eh? :-)

nice photos! looks like you're off to a good start. everything seems properly exposed and composition seems good, some shots just seem a little soft but still, great job. i know you were probably not in a position to get very close or move around so it seems you did very well.
dwight, i know it doesn't grab your interest to not see any photos, but you're coming to the boards to help others so i don't think they should have to sell you their shots. say the ones they put up to preview are bad. i bet you'd still comment to help them out, right? you're a great guy and i know you help everyone out a ton, so maybe these people just don't have a lot of time to embed a bunch of images. just a thought, not trying to start a fight:)
nice shots!

I noticed some shots at 70 mm. The monopod helped the f/4 but I wonder if the 85mm 1.8 prime would work better for you in this setup? Nice pictures.

Well, I think it is pretty obvious that posts here have images and it is hardly a burden to ask that the newer folks operate that way. If they don't have the two minutes is takes to embed links to the same images that they are putting in URLs to find then I don't have time to look and I want to share that. If you don't care if you have to go off to some other website with no clue what is there that is OK with me: no fight, just expecting some consideration. Since I've made this statement about 50 times I guess I no longer hem and haw and try to make it all OK. I started after hearing lots of complaints from people not getting feedback who did not embed images. I will continue to point it out ... perhaps more gently, sigh.

mmm...i was just surprised to hear it from you. i understand what you're saying tho, other people not going to links. it's also a lot diff. when you're on a mac and viruses pose very little danger. all in all, again, not trying to pick a fight, just surprised because i knew you, of all people, would be the one to check blind links and help out the poster.

I'm with Dwight on this one, most of the time if there are no images directly on show I don't bother to click........as I have not done this time. Show us some shots and if they're cool, I'll check out some more!
Roger.

Thanks to all.
Dwight - Believe it or not I did that in flight fro Houston to Calgary.
You are right that it takes time. The other reason I didn't is that you can only do two. I read a post on posting images that asked specifically not to post volumes. I call 29 volumes.....Based on what I'm reading I'll disregard and embed pics.
Thanks to all for your feedback.

you, of all people, would be the one to .. help out the poster.
I did help him out ... I think you have too much energy on this. Anyway, I'm having a bad week ... pulled my back out and will be walking like an 85 year old for three weeks, sigh. Maybe I'm just grouchy.:o

Please do not "disregard" forum guidelines based on the above! :) :) :)
I think the recopmendation was some sample images,. but that aside,. if you want to sahre 29 images,. a link is the way to go.
You've done a great job on these in tricky lighting,. good timing and good moments. Try to get in a little closer for some,. and work on getting the horizon straight.
