No one has this in stock,. B&H actually finally let me order one a few weeks back (usually you can't order items out of stock) but now its been nearly three weeks and they can't get them in stock!

What is the deal,. it is very dificult to work with a camera on a tripod without the stupid switch. Adorama can't get them either, and I refuse to trust any of the cut throat stores that "claim" to have it,. (IF B&H can't get them do you believe "HotBuys" really has them?)

On a similar note I see that the 300D/Rebel will work with an infrared remote,. My old Olympous did this too and it is VERY handy! I wish the 10D had this option without having to buy the expensive add on part!

I ordered one from BandH too. I'm sure as soon as it's available it will be shipped. They are very reliable.

I noticed the B & H was out of them as well. I found them available at few other places, but they were more expensive. I finally settled on CDW.com. They had them in stock for only about $5 more. It was shipped the day after I ordered it. It's on the way.

Yeah, I was having the same problem. I finally just ordered the TC-80N3 instead and I couldn't be happier. It's more bucks of course, but it's been well worth it. It does the instant release like the RS80 but also has the timer operations as well. If you can swing the extra 70 bucks for the TC, I don't think you'll be sorry. Check the specs and see if you could benefit from some of the extra options.

CDS,

I have one RS-80n3 MIB (Mint in Box). I ordered it in error and promptly ordered the TC-80n3 while the RS was still in transit.

Was saving the RS as a gift for a friend who was going digital but he's since found other ventures.

Anyway,

Lemme know if you're interested.

Yikes... the only eBay listing right now is *MORE* than the B&H price! I'd say there is a definite shortage of this product.

On a second note, the remote switch is a very simple device. I'm shocked that Sigma doesn't make a $20 version.

Are their other 3rd party versions? One thing that is really great is a "remote control" shutter release. You plug a receiver into the camera and then activate it remotely through a remote control. Perhaps you might search around on the web.
