I'm doing photography at semi-pro level, getting by on studio shoots, etc. I thought it would be sensible to register with some of the big stock photography houses for some extra cash, and in case I get that all important, news-worthy shot that I need to get out there real quickly.

I've spent a really annoying morning trying to find out how you even apply to submit stock to these companies and am coming up blank. Can anyone help? Where the hell do you go?

There are tons of stock agencies listed if you search on google, or books like Photographer's Market.

Regarding Getty, have a look on their website. It's closed to unsolicited submissions as far as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure all the major stock agencies have their staff photographers and do not let just everybody contribute.
