One of us threw away a peach pit a few years ago & it's become a (small) tree behind Mom's garage! This is the first year that it's bloomed.

don't peaches come from a can? weren't they put there by a man? in a factory downtown?
(presidents of the united states of america - peaches)

Thanks for your help and comments on my photo. These are beautiful! I see how you have the center of the focal point flower really sharp and everything looking so soft and delicate around it. I will keep trying.

I would have thought growing a peach tree from a stone is fairly difficult
I thought the stone had to be steeped in water for a while first
but am not real sure at all
I think I tried it years ago
these pictures came out beautifully Frank
your mam (and you) must have been delighted to see the new growth . seems like the tree will have to be moved soon
away from the garage to show the blossoms at their best
I think the last two shots are my favourites
but it's hard to tell. for different reasons I like them differently
beautiful colours all over
the stamens came out perfect
:)

Thank's for the comments everyone! ...i like the border as well Some like them, & some hate them! I had time on my hands. I would have thought growing a peach tree from a stone is fairly difficult Maybe it's best, but they got along without us for millenia, Marie! ;) I will keep trying. It's not the only way Carol, but I like it. Another way: Negative Lighting (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70824)

These are very good shots Frank, the colours of the flowers on the Peach tree are nicely exposed giving natural colour and detail, more than that though is how well they are composed.
And a treat in the end to see the fruits of the labour, those peaches look tantalizingly tasty.

those peaches look tantalizingly tasty. YES! The weren't quite ripe when I picked them, so I put them in a paper bag for a week & they started hitting their peak 2 days ago. With a few frozen raspberries & some ice cream... http://photo.klein-jensen.dk/smilies/cheer2.gif
Thanks for the comments everyone.

the display was in a public house window in a town not too far away Frank
so the same villagers must be their best customers
they probably need something stronger then guinness anyway
if they still carry torches
(and ride broomsticks)
