Optical Slave

Can anyone recommend an "optical slave" that will work with the Canon 550 ?? I've tried 3 "off the shelf" optical slaves and can seem to get them to work...

If you are commenting on slave strobe units, just about any flash optical slave will work with the 550EX. Remember, the 550EX by default is an E-TTL device that will pre-fire a strobe, measure the resultant light values, set the parameters in the camera and flash unit and then fire the main strobe. All happens in a few milliseconds. The pre-fire will trigger your slave strobes. By setting the 550EX and your camera to manual will prevent the E-TTL pre-firing and should work fine.
