I like #1 & #3. #1 looks like something you'd see in a magazine and I know that look is getting popular, so that's cool. #3 is something I'm sure they liked. Good work.

The shots are all great, but for an engagement shoot I dont like to pose them as if they are about to break up.

That being said, for the occasion it was, number 3 is my favorite, followed by the last :)

I did get a bunch more traditional shots of them smiling at the camera, just these ones stuck out to me, maybe it was the mood I was in last night when I first looked at them.

#1 Is spectacular - Way to find the light!

#2 could have used a bit more fill flash

#3&5 are very good as well.

Don't care too much for #4

I love the style, and tend to try to do some edgy shots with my couples as well, but I hope you got some romantic ones in too :)

I really like how you processed these photos!!! Very nice!!!

I also like the set as a whole..........AGree with the lack of fill flash in Number #2 (but that can be fixed with PP).

:-)

Thanks for sharing!!!

#3 and 5 are my faves, but I would lighten the couple a bit in 5. I have to agree, they do look more like magazine shots rather than engagement shots, but they are all very good. hehe, #1 does look like they could be breaking up.

only one photo show the couple connected, could be a ad for something. Not great engagement shots, great shots just not feeling the love.

yeh they look very advert or magazine...which is COOL AS! But i only see 2 of the photo's as being engagement shots, the others espesh 4, kinda looks like they just had an argument lol

Cool photos, but not so good for engagement shots. Can you post some more that make them look like they're a couple? A few words on your post processing technique would be interesting too :)

Oh and for those that asked about processing techniques, here is what I did with these images.

1. Raw Conversion, bumped up white balance, shadows, contrast and saturation
2. Once open in Photoshop, I duplicated the layer
3. Made the duplicated layer an overlay layer
4. adjusted the opacity of that overlay layer to about 20-30%
5. Added photo filter (for some of them) to overlay layer
6. Sharpened the background layer

That is about it, the key I found is creating the overlay layer.

I like those pics better, they look great! Would you mind giving us a little bit more detail on step 5 above?

Using Photoshop CS2, it is under Image Adjustments - Photo Filters, I usually use the Warming Filter 85, and since it is on the overlay layer at only about 20-30% opacity, I usually crank up the filter to about 80%.

I also use a little burn tool around the edges of some of the photos to give a vignette look to them.

It's a cool effect, thanks :)

I like every one of those shots. Whether it's the soul searching for love, and then the connection between the two. Very nice series. Love you editing too. Still got a few things to learn myself ;)

I can't remember where I downloaded the borders, but they are just PSD files that I overlay on top of the photo.
I got them free somewhere :D

I love these photos - number 3 in the first set is incredibly beautiful. I really love those borders! If you are e-mailing them out or posting them....

I found out where I downloaded the borders, if you go to this page

http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm

And then search for Andrea's Borders, you will find the free downloads.

Hi Toogy.. I've missed your photos..it's been a while. These shots seem a lot different than your usual "romantic" style... they're a little edgy... very fun. Of course I love your traditional stuff the most.. you always make people look so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your PP technique. I can always use a lesson or two... :)
