30D Buy Now or Later

I am planning on buying a 30D, but should I wait a little for the price to go down or go ahead and buy it now. And also where should I buy it, I know many people will say B and H, but what about Butterfly Photo, they have it for 1267.00, just wanna know what everyone thinks??? instead of B and H, i can go down the street to Cord Camera and buy it for the same price, without shipping cost.

Hi, long ago I was waiting for the price of the 300D to drop, when I bought it, a month latter the 350D was released. Buy now. For me, 30D body at B&H $1399 + 13.75 shipping to CA
locally, $1399 + 107 CA state tax. Better buy to BH or another online retailer.

Robert's Imaging was one of the first dealers to have the 30D. They were selling it for $1249, and I believe still are.
You have to call on the phone to get this price. A lot of people got their 30D's from them with no problems.

I dont think whatever (relatively) insignificant amount you save will compensate for the amount of fun/learning time you can have in the following few months.

If you can afford the camera, go for it.

Ive learned my lesson, I got my 300d at a reduced rate but the 350d came out just after that. I did not mind as the 350d seemed to small. Then for the past 18 months Ive sat on my hands about the 20d which i dearly wanted. I finally decided to upgrade and low and behold I cant find a new 20d anywhere so Ive just ordered the body and battery grip of the 30d. I plan to keep this camera for a long time so I chose the lastest model. Sometimes the waiting does not always pay off and as soon as you get the model you waited on another will be released and you start to wonder if you should have got that one. I would just go ahead and see if you can get a good price on the 30d, I got 100 dollars off what i brought
