Does anyone have experience with the Tokina 24-200mm AT-X 242 AF.
A wonderful range at a more wondeful low price (~$300)
but is it a wonderful lens?

go for it!

i've got it too with a 10d. imho it has one of the best price / performance ratio, a very good build-quality and it takes very nice photos.
i have the tokina as allround lense and as backup for my canon usm lenses.
the focus is also almost as fasr as my usm canon lenses - but i don't have any l-lenses. in low light the tokina slows a little down (but is still faster than the sigma, tamron and cosina lenses), in low light you can recognize the difference to the canon usm stuff. but if you keep the low price in mind, then you'll know that it's really good.

the only negative thing imho is that it's pretty heavy. i think that resoluts from high quality mechanics (all made of metal).

I'm interested in this lens as well. Do you have sample images posted anywhere I could look at? Thanks.
