Hi

I'm using a Cannon G1

I'm shooting indoors and my camera is not capturing colors correctly they seem faded against other digital photos. I am using tv mode to adjust the shutter speed for low light conditions. I'm using halogen floodlights above for shooting indoors. The color saturation is set to high. The lighting is set in the menu for incandescent lighting. My orange colors seem is red and my black color turns grey I can adjust the color balance in Photoshop but should'nt the camera (the operator included) be able to produce better colors Can you help please ? Do I need filters ? I'm shooting at 200 ISO would 400 be better? What should the light source be set to with halogen (Tungsten or incandescent?)

Thanks for the help
I'm stuck.

Is it in print or on your monitor that you see these results? Both are subject to settings hardware and software for images to look as true to what they really look like. You could try using a custom white balance, or set it when you convert from RAW.

thanks for the response

I'm viewing the picture on my monitor after adjusting the brightness and contrast with the supplied software. Last night i used photoshop to auto adjust colors and the pic is turned to black and is 90% acceptable , but wonder why my pics turn out with the colors faded or washed out a bit.
Was there a setting to focus in on just the object ?

I use photoshop to clean the background.
Thanks for the help...

I have looked at other camera's pics and they turn out more realistic colors. I can't get good results indoors with autosettings. Any suggestions would be appreciated...
