Hello, I was wondering if a Canon Powershot G5 would be sufficient for exposures longer than 15 seconds(like the G3). Take a look at the specifications here:

I'm looking for a good Regular camera AND a CCD Camera built into one for Astrophotography. Will this camera meet my needs?

Thanks in advance.

I think the longest shutter speed for the G5 is 15 seconds.

Brad Buskey frequents the G3 forum and has written a couple of articles about using the G3 with a telescope:

We just added an Astrophotography Gallery to the Outdoor Eyes Outdoor Photography Forum. There are many people who can help you answer your Astrophotography questions. You can also view many of the fine Astrophotography photographs.
Enjoy.
