The sunlight caught my eye with this one. What do you think of the close up composition? Effective or not?

Martin.

It is very effective! Lovely contrast between the colours of the tower and the sky. You are so lucky to have such wonderful architecture around for your shots!

Well Martin,
remember that guys like me know zip about the construction elements that you have set before our eyes -- whereas a guy like William Dalrymple would revel in such details.
So the close-up works as well as any flower for me.

Also, given that Orange and Blue are complimentary colors.. and.. that the orange is dosed in wonderful light, the scene -- while specialized -- is very, very nice. Sharp too!

Like is a lot, but is there is some funny un-sharpness in the window at the bottom? Did you clone out a certain part? The color is also a little more dull than in the upper part.

Hi
I'm not sure what you mean? There was no cloning done here. I think the reason why there is a change in the colour intensity is simply because certain parts of the stones were more bright and colourful than others. Probably the sunlight?

Guess I was wrong. Looking through the hole I think it's actually the top of the 'window' on the other side of the tower that has a blurry edge. Just viewing it on my laptop which is always worse LOL

You are quite right Henk, but I had not noticed that window(s).
PS:
That was one fine shot that you yourself included in the thread on child photos this week.
