Do I need to have a previous version of EE installed to install 1.5 beta?

Or can I delete 1.2 which is currently empty and do a fresh install of 1.5

I've got 1.22 up and running with one whole pic in it (proof of concept, as much as anything.)

Question re 1.5b1 - is it stable and usable, or it as bad as all the discussion on the forum seems to indicate?

I very much like the idea of being able to automatically use the EXIF data, etc.

Is there a clearly written page anywhere that explains the issues and problems one might expect with using 1.5b1?

Cheers,

Mic

I think most, if not all, problems are solved in 1.5 beta 2 which I will put out tomorrow afternoon (GMT). There will be full installation, and I will try to get 1.22, beta 1.3 and 1.5 beta 2 updates out tomorrow, too.

Many bug reports were in due to confusion of installed modules and libraries, and in beta 2 I have improved this a lot. I have run Beta 1 in http://www.lieksabrass.com/gallery/ and it has served a _lot_ of photos without problems.

I have maintained a list of changes from beta 1 to beta 2 in http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14874

Looking forward to the release Pekka,

It's by far the best gallery script out there, and getting better with each release.

I regret to say I found a bug in exhibition delete code just after I had finished beta 2, so that bug must be fixed before release (and not be delivered to mess your databases). If I can find a solution quickly I may be able to post full version tomorrow morning, otherwise It'll have to wait till monday evening as I'm away from computer for weekend.

All other tests and server tests went just fine and it all looks VERY promising. I was already so happy to get the beta out now, but such is life... :(

What I fixed today:

- Was able to make a comment in a Private Exhibition, but that comment won't show up. FIXED

- COMMENT RULE CHECKER: 'no text' warning, 'uncommented ratings' warning. check for ensuring all rating items are filled.

- ee commerce fails on exhib "all"'s detail list. FIXED.

- forsale sort click in detail list removed (not needed)

- more translations

- settings:
password box on/off
ratings on/off
comments on/off (hides ratings, too)
ratings stats show best top X
X ratings before included to rating statistics
rating stats thumb size
ftp file up/download check on/off
set refresh message on/off by default

Not yet Fabre. Think we are getting close. Pekka mentioned he was working on the upgrade scripts now. Which would lead me to believe the new code is complete.

Soon I'm sure.
