Very nice shots, I love the head on shot of the Crab spider but the Buttercup is my favourite.

Great series :D I love the crab spider, wonderful comosition :) The first hoverfly would have been awesome if the composition was a bit different.

Thanks guys.
Omri, I often find myself muttering at the bugs as I'm shooting. Telling them not to land there and to fly onto this or that - they never listen :)

Lovely shots pxl8 - especially the crab shot. Is it me, or are crab spiders really aggressive?

Thanks Dave. These crab spiders seem very placid. If you put a small twig in front of them they do nothing. The nursery web spider I've posted a few shots of recently is very aggressive, he's certainly thinks the best form of defence is kill kill kill :)

Wow. Of all the images I see of crab spiders, they seem to look so aggressive. From experience, most spiders I've seen aren't very aggressive at all, preferring to run and hide.

I guess to their prey they look pretty scary. This guy was smaller than my fingernail but I guess part of the fascination of macro for me is trying to take the viewer into their world, rather than bring them into ours.

True, very true. It's such an amazing world, isn't it?
