What tricks/tips do you have for protecting your gear when taking photo's in poor weather?

Here's what you do. Get a 1DMkII(N) and a 70-200L IS, and a 24-70L, and go out in the rain. Tada! Your gear is protected!

No...seriously. My bag is AW, so that's not a problem. As for what's in my hand, it would depend on how big of a combo you're holding. They make a type of "rain coat" for a lens camera combo. Honestly, no offense, but with the gear you have, I would highly recommend staying inside if it gets crappy outside. Same goes for my gear. My lenses are weathersealed, but my body isn't, so it wouldn't help.

Here's a short list of rain gear, so to speak.

Thanks for the pointers, and that link is great. I didn't know that stuff even existed!?!

I'm gonna have to brave the elements at some point, i really want to take some 'tipping it down' shots. But i want to take as many precautions as i can, as i don't really want to kill my camera.

I like the looks of the last few on that list that have the bit you throw over your head and covers the length of the lens. Sorta like in the good ol' days. ;-)
