my boss let me play with L glass and Mark 1 D (Thank you Michael!!!), this thing weighed like 8 lbs (lens and body), but I took my first shot from Yelm!!! It's not the best, but my first, so I will keep shooting (with my canon 10 D) till I finally get the "shot" that I always drempt of:)

It might look better with a little less saturation, looks a bit unnatural at the moment IMHO.

It does look a bit weird with the saturation. It's also bigger than 800px longest length or 100kb recommended max size too. ;)

I have too agree with the others _ he needs to clean his sensor too.

Nah, the sensor is fine. That's how the sky looks in Yelm, full of particulate matter from the two fiberglass factories.
Lara, You'll get better shots of the Mountain from near 8th avenue out on SR 702, look at some of the Ft. Lewis Training area fields, otherwise head out towards NW Trek, and when you come to the stop sign near the Pierce County Sheriff Detachment and the corner store where you'd normally take a left to NW Trek, take a right and then almost an immediate left into a small roadside park. Great shot location and not too far from the Yelm metropolitan area.

Keep shooting for the one you are looking for, you did a great job for a first. The tips above will make your next set better but you already seem to have a good eye.

You've got way too much noise for a photo taken wit that impressive piece of equipment.
I also spotted some chromatic aberations in the tree to the right.

The trees look oversaturated. Can you post what it was unprocessed. I'm interested to know if the saturation helped or not. I got some dream shots this weekend and a really nice landscape should not need that much saturation, IMO, but a good try. If that is the view you drempt of, keep shooting in that spot with different settings and you may just get something spectacular.
