Hi guys,
Time to break in another forum virgin. This is one of the few pictures that I am actually proud to have taken, so be gentle with me :D
Taken with a Canon EOS 350D & Canon 50mm f1.8 MK11.
Had it about 2 weeks when I took this, I learned more in 2 weeks with a DSLR than I did in 10 years with film.
Taken at a guides convention in the UK, of all things.
Do your worst, all critique welcomed :D

i like it...the ubiquitous mic stands aren't obtrusive, the lighting is really good...a keeper for sure.

Welcome to POTN! With a name like that you should have been able to get anything you wanted! :-) Nice composition and color. I don't see anything in sharp focus ... compression problem? Maybe the smoke?

Very unique shot....I'm glad you mentioned it was at a guide convention as I hadn't seen a musician wearing a 'neckerchief' before:D

The full sized image is in very sharp focus around the guitarist, for me at least the full sized image has a great 'feel' to it.
I have been tempted to crop the RHS amp, can & mike stand, but haven't bothered yet. The image you see is unprocessed (other than converting the RAW to JPEG).

I think when you go to process it, some added contrast will really give the picture some 'pop'. Nice colours though.

Welcome to the forum. Shooting directly into the stage lights is a tough one. Nice shot.

Nice first post. Good colors and atmosphere. I think the mic stand and the people in the background give me more of "feeling like i was there" feel. But if it was croped it would tell a whole dif story but still be a great shot IMO.
