I was at Thruxton yesterday (Saturday) for BARC Championship Racing. Close fought classic racing featuring BMW’s, Ford Capri’s, Escort RS2000’s, 205 GTi’s, Golf GTi’s and more. Great fun!

For me the highlight of the day were the 205 GTi's :) I own a 1.9 myself so

Here's a few compressed "forum friendly sized" photos...

#1 Interesting "aerodynamics" :p

Thanks :) Yeh it was a shame, his driving style was rather "spectator / photographer friendly" - I liked very much :D Was also a shame #51 pulled into the pits appraoching the grid, so he never even made the start :( He was equally as exciting :)

There was a few of us around with camera's, one fella in particular stood out though (was it you?). Unfortunately he was a "machine-gun-charlie" Looked like he was using a 20D and 100-400L but can't be sure. He was quite a big chap so don't think a monopod/brolley prod would have been such a good idea (Cadwell  ). Personally I've never found it neccessary to fire 10 shots machine-gun-style each lap but then I know others can't help it :p

Nice shots Azza (and Alan). I think I could probably fill a gallery with just shots of that Pug :) He was very entertaining.

You guys must have been stood just to my left ....

Yep that's me, hello :) Heh, rather crusty method I know but it saw me through nice and dry... it's no good without the elastic band though :p

Good ol' English weather... never changes  Sadly I can't seem to view your photos, all I get is "Red X's". Could you upload them to another server (photobucket etc) and repost? :) Do you have any photos from back then, I'd like to see "how it looked" back then :)

Top action AzzA!
Cheers Dave

Thanks Andy. Yeh both Pugs were erm... how can I put this... quite "aggressive" through the chicane :) Sadly neither made it to the finish

Yes at some point we must've, I see from your post that you ventured round the track, I was meaning to to get some variety but the weather was a bit miserable and the chicane is always good fun :)

Cheers

Lovely :)

1, 3 and 7 have a great sense of action, not to mention excellent timing.
