Soft Edge with S30 + Wide angle

I have the Canon S30 and I recently bought the 37mm tube lens adapter, and the Tiffen 37mm Wide Angle lens 0.56x. I'm noticing that no matter how much I zoom in or zoom out there are soft edges or a little bit of bluriness. I have tried setting the F-stop to 8.0 but it didn't help it much. Any suggestions how I can correct the soft edges, or is this expected with the wide angle lens?

Seems like the optics of the Tiffen lens are not up to snuff. Take it back if you're unhappy with it (take some samples with you). Was there other adapter lenses? Try those at the store if you can. If Canon makes one for your camera, try that, it will likely be quite sharp.

Thanx for the response. I talked to a guy at BugEyeDigital and he said i was the 3rd customer to complain about it. He says of all the people that complained, they all had S30s. So i was wondering if there was a wide angle lens that goes well with the S30s?
