First thing that strikes me: the people are tiny in almost every frame. Not a terrible thing, but noticable. I'd prefer a blend of those sorts of shots and shots where they fill the majority of the frame.

#5 is truly beautiful

In that last close up one, I would have used fill flash to get rid of that very harsh lighting. She's all shadowed. Very nice shots, but agree about them being "lost" in the shot.

5 is really nice but I see some dust on your sensor ... time for a cleaning?

These are quite good, I most like #9 except she seems a little aquward. I was going to mention it's time to clean your sensor too - be sure to remove those spots for the prints or album. Also, stand closer, wide is good but close is good too.

Thanks everyone! She had this great, classic dress on so I tried to go for the more old-fashioned, classic stuff and didn't get as many close-ups. I do have some - will edit those and post sometime!

Clean my sensor - how? Is this something I take it to the camera shop for? Thanks for pointing it out - I was always thinking it was something on my lens and trying to clean them! Shows how much i know! Ha!

I use this (http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/ccd_cleaning) to clean my sensor, works well.

#3 and 4 are my favorites, but I also like the shots under the tree. I'm not liking the lens flare on the couple in the last shot.

Finally getting around to uploading some of the close up shots. Didn't like these as much - he's a squinter! He squints in every pic!He said he does taht in all pics. Fun for me. Also had some harsh shadows but here you go...

Stacie - I agree about the lens flare. I was working off my new Mac - and I don't have photoshop on it yet. I just used iPhoto so far - need to get these onto Photoshop to touch up still!

Great work, nice post processing, good variety of views. I like the way that you worked the whole environment with the couple and also pulled in for the close ups as well.

I most like 5, 10, and 11 in the first series. Don't like the crooked horizons, uneven sky lighting, or poses emphasizing his rather large full body profile (ie: fat) or where shirt pulls to look ill-fitting. Some shots catch her looking like a total babe (#3), others pretty homely (#3 on 2nd set).

So; more pose coaching and editing out the bad ones. Less is more.

NBEast - I was rather taken aback when I saw the pic of her you mentioned in the second set - didn't look like the same girl at all! She's such a cutie but that pic doesn't show it! I haven't finished their online gallery to send them yet - might not include that one! ;-)

That short sleeved white shirt wasn't a good choice- really shows his size. Had he worn a long sleeved dark grey sweater, I think he would look much better.

Also, i am not all that crazy about her outfit either- kind of boring. I really like the color of her hair- it would be nice if she wore a top that accentutated her hair color, the black sweater just kind of melts into her hair.

Their clothing immediately stood out as not looking quite right.

Maybe for the close-ups of him I would position myself so that I looked down on his face, as opposed to looking up. It would help de-emphasize the fullness of his face, esp. his chin.

The location is very pretty but maybe a bit too desolate. Posing them in a smaller area with a backdrop as opposed to open sky and water would convey a sense of intimacy that I am not really feeling in some of the shots.

Yeah, that white shirt really wasn't great for him...(ok..ok...enough with their clothing already!)

I don't know if white was the culprit as much as a $30 shirt. Those shots from below do seem to make chins fatter. Guess that's the photographer's job, making this stuff look it's best, or at least avoiding accentuating the lumpy wobbly bits.

For example; I notice that when she is slightly in front, positioned so her nice figure is siloetted against his, his figure looks downright trim. A $100 shirt help matters a lot. Stuff like that.

Does anyone have a good link or book reference on photo angles and tricks for poses by less than model material subjects?

Oh, really like about half of these shots. Stellar work. That willow tree is a nice surrounding, I find it dramatic in a romantic kind of way. Nice lens choice in accentuating it's lines.
