I just wanted to post a message to let you know just how happy I am with my S50. I spent weeks and weeks of researching between all digitals and then narrowed it down to S45, S50 and G3 and G4. I choose the S50 because of the great reviews from everyone and the fact that the S50 is smaller and easier to carry in purse. Anyway, I don't think anyone would be disappointed if they buy one. I have have a little trouble with interior shots in a house but I can tell you that is user error. Thanks to all that posted reviews.

nanllyn,

Ditto here, with my new S50 from about a week ago. If you haven't been there yet, here's a link to another great Canon forum website that also has a Q & A and a lot of good info to learn about:

Good luck on your too!

Thanks for the link. It really helps to have all the information you can get. Also I have had my S50 for 6 months now. Don't regret it one bit. The only problem is that the "print" for the Auto setting has rubbed off. The others so far are fine. It has been suggested to put some clear coat over it. I don't know any to suggest as I am leary about the reaction with the plastic but there are all kinds of suggestions. Wish I would have seen them when I first got my camera.

Hi again,

I was just reading a thread a few minutes ago about the rub-off problem you mentioned, and two thing were mentioned: something called "new skin" (I think that was the name) and nail polish (clear, I assume). Try doing a search on those terms in the help or search or find window either at this forum or the other one.

It apparently is a problem that Canon needs to address.
