There seems to be many discussions about photography web site - flickr, smugmug, etc. Do you have your pictures on multiple sites? Your own portfolio? I have Flickr and my personal site, but wondering if that is enough to get my work noticed. Is it worth the extra costs?
Thanks!

I have my own web, shutterfly, and contribute shots to a community gallery. I don't advertise any for sale anywhere. I was going to use shutterfly for that, but decided I wanted to control the quality of the prints, I just use shutterfly now as a quick way to show shots I have taken. Won't renew membership when it's up. Good to have exposure from different sources. Now that I have revamped my web and am pointing people to it am getting alot of hits (it's housed at yahoo). Hope that helps some. Hopefully people who are actually selling with give you more concrete info.

but wondering if that is enough to get my work noticed. No. I use photobucket & put the url (using ************) on my cards. I prefer to target my market instead of waiting people to come to me.
It MIGHT help if you defined what "if that is enough to get my work noticed." means? Try several alternatives & see what works best for you.

Personally I get little business from my website.... However it becomes an essential tool when I have hooked a prospect. At that point they want to browse what I've done... but certainly not view galleries.

you really should just do your own website. Dreamhost has a special for 9.99 for the first year for everything. theres other good deals too. personally if someone sends me a flickr or smugmug link I just pass it off as noting more than a personal album.
