i have a 30D attached to a 24-105 F4L, and carry a 50mm F1.4 and spare cards and batteries. I am looking for the most compact shoulder bag to fit this in. I bought the Lowepro 70AW, but it is just too bulky for me.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try the Lowepro Omni Sport (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=47760) - it's really small and surprisingly roomy. Don't have the 24-104L, but I can fit my 10D with 100mm Macro with no problem, plus one more lens and a flash, or two more lenses (no flash).

I'd take a look at the Domke FX-5. I fit my body, and 3 lens kit wonderfully in one. It's a non-descript bag too, which I'm very fond of, as I don't care for camera bags that "look like camera bags". Here's a link from cambags.com

I too had been looking for a minimalist bag and just ordered Domke FX-5. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow (Thursday). I'll let you know what I think once I get it out of the box and fitted with my gear.

Well, I've had a couple days with the Domke FX5 and boy it's so much smaller than I thought it would be.
I've been struggling to get my 20D with 10-22mm lens attached (plus hood) in an out. I certainly can't fit an additional lens or flash. No room for a wallet and keys really either.
I think this bag will be great for just the body and small lens. but I'm disappointed and probably won't get much use out of it. I usually like to have at least two lenses plus 580EX with me and this won't come close.
I also ordered at the same time the Tamrac Adventure 6 and while I love the exterior size and fit, I'm having trouble fitting my camera and wide angle in it as well. Certainly won't take the body with battery grip attached.
I'm now at two backpacks and two shoulder bags and still haven't found what I'm looking for. This is getting very frustrating.
Good luck in your search.

How about the Lowepro Zoom 2:

I bought the Zoom 1 and it fits my 20D/30D with the 17-85IS perfectly,

did you get your bag yet??
if so, can you post some pictures of your gear inside the bag, and the bag next to something to get an idea of how big it actually is?
thanks!

I just got it on friday. it was very tight with my 30D with 24-105 attached, 10-22, and 580EX. I don't have a picture of it yet. I'll try to take a few pics tonight and post it.

I would keep the 5 million dollar home for sure if I could somehow fit a rocket blower in there. Otherwise, It's still a tough one. The 6 million dollar home maybe a little too thick for my taste. I guess I'm not really helping, am I :p

Where did you guys order the 5 million dollar home from? Most places have them for $90, but I think one or two may have it for $75. I am looking for a black one

Thanks, I rarely think of ordering directly from the manufacturer.
