Would like opinions on 2 pics please

I would like some opinions on these 2 pics please. I am very early in my photography and would value anyone's thoughts.

1) PURPLE FLOWER

WHAT WORKS:

a) Colors are well saturated without being overdone
b) Whites are only very minimally blown, if at all
c) In focus everywhere it needs to be
d) Lighting/Shade brings the subject to the viewer
e) Nothing important cut off or out

WHAT DOESN'T:

a) Centrally placed subject can be boring
b) Leaf on upper right and lower left seem to cut the frame diagonally

Impression: Well done but nothing to separate it from the millions of other well done flower shots.

1) CHERRIES

WHAT WORKS:

a) Colors are EXCELLENT
b) Depth of focus is excellent. Really draws the viewer in. Creates one of the best sense of depth I have seen in a long time
c) The diagonal of the branch ending with the finger-like stems is an excellent focus of interest.
d) Shade on the snow adds texture.
e) I really like the choice of subject. The idea of chilled cherries makes my mouth water.

WHAT DOESN'T:

a) Slight ding for the branch in the foreground being out of focus.

Impression: Be proud of this one. It is a hanger without a doubt.

#1 could have had better composition - subject is very centered in the frame.

#2 needed a fill flash with the snow in the background. The image is underexposed and colors are very weak. Try doing an auto levels or auto color correction to brighten up the shot.
