Hi,

I am totally new to photography pretty much. Anything I ever used was pretty much just point and shoot. But recently I purchased the Powershot S2IS and have been attempting to use it to take pictures of the dojo where I go. I am going much better in some respects than my old 5 mp Kodak DX4530 but honestly I still am lost. I often times get blurry pics and then when I up the speed of the shutter I end up with dark shots. Shooting with the flash sure helps a lot but sad to say that kills any hopes of using burst mode.

Please help this poor lost soul.
You can see my work at www.shotokansite.com (http://www.shotokansite.com) look in the image gallery. If you check out the sparring album you should be able to see the latest pictures I took of the last friday sparring matches.

I'm not familiar with the Powershot, but I suspect that you'd be better off forgetting burst mode & trying to catch the peak action selectively. In your place, if you can't get a FAST lens, then I'd add light.
