Please check this out. What do you really think? Is it a waste of my money?

I've read some of the other's comments and I have a hunch.

I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a extended warranty. Get insurance on your gear instead, better value :)

Do not buy from these guys. They've got very very very very bad ratings on www.pricerunner.com Check for yourself to see.

O.K. EspressCameras is really, really bad. A little more Google search revealed that.
Now please explain: What is the difference between insured vs. extended warranty? Would that be part of my home owners policy?

you can get a rider on your home owners policy to cover your camera gear. its a great thing to get, peace of mind is worth it. it does not cost that much either

Yes, I would say that an extended warranty on a lens is a waste of money. As others have mentioned, talk to your insurance agent about adding coverage for your camera equipment.

Extended waranties are just insurance policies. The sales staff push them because they get a sales comission on them. My advice don't bother. My normal reply is "So the product you'r selling me is so unrealiable I need to get failure insurance?".
