I've discovered that I can't upload any data to my S400; apparently I need a card reader to do so. Why is that? Why can't the CF card in the camera be accessed externally?

ZoomBrowser has an UPLOAD option that doesn't work for me. Can anyone shed some light on the upload issue?

You are right.

With my S45 I can't upload anything, either, to my cf card. And this is probably due to canon conception of their driver.

With a card reader, you'll have new drive letters, and you'll be able to download and upload directly to and from you cf card.

Apparently it depends on wich operational system you're using. In my case Windows XP the driver turns the machine into a virtual hard drive so I can "upload" like a real HD one.

I have XP as well, and I can't upload. Are other drivers available for the camera??

Hmmm... People said that the difference between S45 and S50 is the megapixel ... but I think It goes further.

Mine works with the driver shipped... as a matter of fact it's working on my Windows Me and 2000 (couse in my XP I connected the camera *before* install the drivers... result: I never get my camera connection working anymore)

I bought a CF reader... It worth the money I invested!
