My freind who has some stunning blue eyes wants me to take a cool picture of her eyes. I have been racking my brain all day about angles and lighting etc, to capture them just right and make it a more artistic photo. Please show me your creative pictures of eyes??
BTW here she is is with her daughter (last year)

i think a more from the side, but sorta in front angle , as close as you can get to show the nose and eye and hair line, but not the ear..... will try to take one myself.
Perhaps either looking down to the eye or up into it...

Here is my favorite. The eyes were the only thing left in color. Also no color boost or saturation was added to make them brighter. This is the natural eye color.

Thank you, Cider, that's very kind of you. While I can't swear to it, I believe it was my 100mm macro. I must have taken 50 or more shots, switching lenses a few times, until I got one that I thought was good. That shot is the leftmost picture on the "wall" picture also. I used one softbox to camera left.
Here's the model (my daughter). Ignore the blue straplike object. She was recovering from shoulder surgery.

Thanks MDJAK, that means alot coming from you!
As for getting them to hold still, it is tough. These shots were taken at 1/50th and 180, at 1.8 and 2.8 (shot dependant, check EXIF, it's there.) That leaves little room for error in terms of camera shake and focus point, but I guess that I have just gotten used to it with a 2 year old. My son is quite photogenic (actually, both are, we just had another baby http://www.pryorportrait.com/Harrison/Harrison/ :D) and because of this, I always try to capture him with natural or dramatic lighting, and this is tricky, but it is GREAT practice.
Oh yeah, I also hold down the shutter release for about 10 frames or so, this gives me a greater chance at success.
