When trying to download images off my G2 into Zoombrowser EX I recieve a warning window that says

"Unable to copy file. Probable causes are:

the camera is not connected properly; the battery level is too low.

the source file is missing or read-only.

the target folder is missing or read-only.

etc......

I am an experienced user and the camera is set up properly. I am trying to download 66 images of my newborn and would be very upset if they are lost.

Pleasse help!!!!

Hi,

In order to assist I (we) would need further information, e.g. what operating system are you using (Mac, Win 95/98/98SE/Me/2K/XP), how you are connecting the G2 to the computer (TWAIN or WIA USB).

Cheers,
Barry

In fact I can't even create a new folder in my database. Gives no reasons why either, in adition I just re-Installed my database because it went corrupt. These cameras are only as good as the software that controls them.

Mikeh,

ahh Yes, the dreaded "Doom browser":eyes

I think you might like to forget about zoombrowser and download Breezebrowser. You will find that it is worth the $25 to get the license. What is nice is the download is free and you can try it out before you buy. Only difference is that you can only do 12 or so pictures at a time. Give it a try before you pull your hair out. :)

Here is the link. http://www.breezesys.com/BreezeBrowser/index.html

Don't feel bad Mikeh, I got that same stupid problem. The software sucks. I am looking into a better way to download my images out of this baby. Worse comes to worse I will just get a card reader !

I think I would just get a card reader so you can at least copy all the photos somewhere and be sure they are safe. After that you can try the new software to see if you like them. I wouldn't want to experiment on photos that cannot be replaced.

Thanks everyone! I just ended up installing the software for the third time in last few days. Seems to have taken care of it for the time being.

I use a card reader with Win XP and it is a straight forward and quick way to get the files onto the computer for use with which ever program you prefer for manipulation or filing.

Good Luck.
