I was just wondering what is the measurements of a standard size of a studio?
I am designing my house at the mo.. and want to include a home studio in the design.

Thanks

I don't know if there is a standard size for a studio. I do know when I looked at it myself the minimum size I would recommend normally would be 600 Sqft (20x30) by a minimum of 12 feet in height. Not counting changing rooms, office space and storage.
You can get away with less obviously and more is always better, but if you have a choice I would aim for a minimum of that floor space. ceiling height if doing people will basically mean a minimum of 10 feet and a desired of 15' or more.

The above assumes shooting up to a family of 5 people, full length.

If doing commercial car shots obviously need more space.
If the lights can be mounted to ceiling and walls you can probably actually get with a slightly smaller space.

Some professional spaces I have seen available for rent, run from 400 Sq feet to 1200 Sq feet with 600-900 being common with 12-15 foot ceilings.

I have seen studios that are essentially 4000+ Sq foot warehouses.

Note: I use a 12 foot wide by 24 foot deep (12 foot ceiling) area as home studio, but never seem to have enough width and sometimes it gets a bit tight on the depth, although not as much since I learned to lean my portable backdrop against the back wall.

Hope that helps a little bit.

the studio i had last summer was 25x30' w/ 15' ceilings and it worked most of the time, shooting a 24-70L was not an issue, but there were times i wished it was bigger
