I've recently purchased a R72 Infrared filter for use with my G3 and Lensmate. After a bit of trial and error I found best results to be had when setting a custom white balance and shooting on the "P" setting. For some reason AV and TV settings drastically underexposed, perhaps someone can explain. However, longish shutter times warranted a tripod to be used. Post processing of the images was just "auto levels" and a touch of sharpening... the gallery is available at http://www.pbase.com/alienspresent/infrared
Hope this helps... LMKWYT!

Here are a few that I shot with a Hoya RM90 filter. Exposures were 10-15 seconds with custom white balance. Levels and sharpening applied in Photoshop.

I have posted many threads on G3-IR (do a search under my name). G3 is not as good an IR camera as G1 (see Don Ellis' photos for examples that will blow you away.) My website has a comparison of G3 and G1 IR (my link in sig.) These images by tonymac seem to show the "hot spot" effect that many folk have gotten with their G3 IR photos. Look and you will see the center is almost blown out, and the edges appear darker.
I like the b&W conversion though, very powerful.

You mention a custom white balance -- interested in this -- what was the setting you used?
Thanks
