I heard lensmate is nice. But it's expensive. Any other adapter that's (almost) as good as the lensmate one but cheaper? Is lensmate really worth it? If you don't use lensmate, do you have any problem with it?

THANKS!
DAVID

I bought an adapter, telephoto, wide angle and 3 filters off ebay for $75. I don't even know what brands they are but they work great for my needs. I'll try to take a shot and give you the names when I get home.

Thanks for the reply, shanni.

Lensmate adapter has black coating inside the tube. But is it really necessary? Will it really cut down reflection? It seems no matter which adapter people have, they are happy. So why bother spending extra for lensmate? Or am I missing something?

I bought the lensmate adapter for my A610 due to reviews that I had read. Most folks claimed it fit much more securely than the stock Canon adapter.
I just purchased the Hoya close-up lens set as well.

It really depends on how much you'll be using it. I only have experience with the lensmate and I can tell you that it's rock solid and very secure. The Canon, while it works for alot of people, is supposed to be made of plastic. Price difference is not that much too.

But I have question is that len adapter has lock? Many thanks for link...

I'm not John C but I can answer that question. Yes, it locks just like the proprietary adapter. In fact, it is supposed to lock better since I've heard reports that the Canon adapter wiggles a little bit when attached. The lensmate adapter locks in place very well.

Yeah, what Dyle said :)

The lensmate adapter fits very securely to my A610, and feels very solid (it's all metal after all).

The one I got off ebay is Digital Concepts lens adapter for A610/A620. It's really great, very solid metal and nice. I can't find it on their website though. www.sakar.com item #JA-610-52. I googled it and the few websites that had it the photo doesn't look like the one I have. I'll try to take a picture of it and post it.
