Hello,

I've been looking for a good price on this camera and have therefore had to call some of these east coast low price dealers. They are always trying to upsell everything, uv filters, batteries, etc. AND they even use the same dialog from one place to the next.

Anyways.

I wanted to find out what the real reasons one would need to get filters for your camera? I am a beggining photographer, are these necessary.

Also, if I buy the base package, is there a total MUST GET item that isn't included?

Thanks, MS

Mmmm, grasshopper you have much to learn (quote from KUNG FU) :)

Filters are useful for "very close-ups", IR pics, special effects like polarizer or color change, and the UV is basically a protector of the lens. To use any filters requires a adapter and most likely the best is the lensmate. You can order all at this link. http://www.lensmateonline.com

As far as what is a MUST GET, check out this link to an earlier discussion. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1569

Happy shooting. :D
