The Conwy county council tourism board want to use this image of mine on their tourism website.they said they will pay a fee and credit me on the website. How much do I charge,I don`t want to seem cheap or over-price myself out of the market. The image is of the fireworks over Llandudno pier, North Wales.

WOW awesome shot!! I think it's worth a lot, but I don't know about those things. All I can say is don't underprice yourself! this is definitely worth some money!

First, that site doesn't seem to offer a billing for website material? How would you put that type of situation into the stock price calculator, Corey?

Tony, GORGEOUS shot. Was that during a grand finale or was it multiple shots transposed together?

I would view the web as a brochure with > 100,000 distribution. Probably call it a rear-cover shot. That puts the price between 600 and 1200 USD withe median being 900 USD.

That is just how I would calculate the price of the shot for web use. Of course the licensing would have to be tight; specific to the specific web-page and possibly a duration clause as well.

Tony (the OP)- Would you be willing to share EXIF data on that shot? I'm really quite interested. Thanks!

Tony, you really need to factor in your time at say £35 per hour and then some profit. I dont quite think they would give you 900USD. You need to make sure who retains the copyright. You would be doing well if they gave you £150.

I dunno, I think £150 might be under selling yourself a bit. Granted I'm far from expert in these matters, it seems to me that you could get at least £250 for an image like this, with perhaps a 2-year or 3-year usage license on ONLY their single site? I'm curious what any of you do regarding a contract or listing of rights with the purchase to the buyer in situations like this.

Hi Tony,I work quite a bit with tourism departments here in Cornwall.so I know a bit about charging, the answer is to weigh up how much work you think you could get in future, how good it would be for your profile and how much they want the image.A single image for web use for one year I charge £75.You should ask £150 for one year web use only and see what they say.John

For magazine work, I get $100 per page photos only and $300-$500 for a cover. For photo shoots I charge $55 per hour $200 min. including processing time. The photos I sell include copyrights as I sold not rented the photo. Just Me talkin

Thanks for all your replies. They have been on to me again and put me on the spot so I kind of paniced and told them £25 for the year. It looks like I have undersold myself again:oops:
Anyway, this is the first stock image I have been asked for so it`s a learning curve.
Thanks again,
