sorry, but photo #3 makes me wonder why the audience didn't just sit at home and listen to the music on their stereo...if you aren't gonna dance, who would pay $ to see some dude play records and fiddle around?
the 4th pic is pretty cool.

For the same reasons people don't always dance at concerts.
I like number 5 a lot.

I like #5, 7 and 8. But I must say, I do miss the 'action' in these shots...
Also, I would've liked to at least see what the dj's hands are doing: A bit higher viewpoint would've shown the decks and mixer.

there's a fair difference between playing already-recorded music over a turntable, and playing music in real-time w/ instruments, no? don't get me wrong, i definitely like some laptop/electronic/DJ stuff but i can't imagine ever going to see a live performance.

i'm more of a passive observer; don't let my stoic facade be mistaken for indifference though. :)

You are right, but thats how it was most of the time. Seems like it was star DJ appearances and they wanted mostly to see these DJs work instead of dancing.

Unfortunately I did not gather the courage to go up in stage to take pictures from that point of view. I regret it now.

A well, you live and learn ...
At least now you will use a different PoV next time ;)
