Traditional 4X6's?

Just curious as to how the pro's generally do this!

Thanks!

Online and on a proshow DVD. Printed proofs if they want to pay for them.

I shoot raw & small jpg. I then place all good unedited small jpg online with gallery 2.1. This allows them to login and only see thier proofs. They then have the ablity to make comments and rate thier photos with a 1-5 star rating system. This allows them to go through them a pick the ones they like. When I login as the administrator I can also see what ratings the have selected for each photo.

Now I do not have to sit down with them and go through the photos in the studio with them. Then I can print the proofs they want and in any other format I wish. I'm not wasting money printing a wasted photos.

Its amazing what things customers like or dislike which we as the photographer will never know until we waste our money. What I have learned over time is to carfully listen to your customer and key in on what is important to them.

Just recently, I had a child I photographed, cropped it and made it perfect. What I missed was the fact that the mother had bought this beautiful dress which I cropped part of it off because the photo just didn't look right too a photographers eyes.

I'm not a pro. but, I generally post them online and allow them to choose from there... and order prints for them.. awhile back I just gave them c.d's of there images but after a couple of bad experiences.. (namely, cheap mother going to the worst photo kiosk in Walmart, saw the prints and wanted to cry, and one young girl taking her photos and did her own postprocessing 'for fun').. I do give them a 4x6 proof album with there orders...
