She has a great smile and I like the composition on this. I don't think that leaving the apple red works for me IMHO. Other than the apple, I think this is a great picture. She is a pretty young lady.

I'm not very good at PP, so I always admire people that can do this effect, but the color kind of distracts from the pretty girl with the lovely smile. Other than that I love the picture. Her smile looks so genuine.

Yep the selctive colour takes away from a very nice B&W portrait, you've captured an excellent moment.

Great photo- agreed about the apple, lose the colour!

On the other hand, I think the red apple would have worked better with her clothing being dark rather than white.

I agree about the apple being distracting from the girl, I think it's a cool effect and it really stnds out in this pic, unfortunately that causes it to take away from your subject

Have you tried the apple with a bit less saturation? Beautiful shot. The detail is great.

I've always wanted to learn how to produce that effect...but in this case I agree that the B&W would probably be a better choice.

A pretty girl and I like the smile and the light. I would either lose the red apple or at least tone it down. The other thing that no one has mentioned is her eyes. IMO she is looking a bit too far off to the side.

I like it with the apple red but think the apple being out of focus is what is making it so distracting.

The black and white version looks great. How did you convert it? Gradient map?

The pic is originally in color.
I just desaturated it in Photo shop
