I am purchasing canon rebelXT with a canon ef-s 60mm macro lense..what is the type of filter I need...the one you put on the lense to protect it from dust and accidents?
Also thinking on getting a rocket blower..should I just get the largest one?

Either the clear, or better a UV. Make sure to get a multicoated to minimize reflections.

If you are gonna use a filter (and I'm not getting into that one), buy the best you can afford, like B+W multicoated ones. UV will do.

Make sure you also get and use a properly designed lens hood (usually specifically designed for the particular lens). It should be on the lens anytime you are using it.
