Hi all,
I would like to share the best shot I got this morning using my G3 and not any macro attachment.
The parameters I used for the shot are
zoom level 3x, iso 50, Shut Speed 1/500,F5.0, Tulip mode, autofocus single.
Them I cropped and put a frame ( I am not really happy
with the result of this back processing).
I know, you might be tired of bees , but could you please make some critics.

Very nice, but the tulip option means you are in macro mode ;D.

Hi Frank.
Of course, I know tulip mode is macro mode :)
I just wanted to point out that I did not add any additional lens.

its very good shot of the bee Jose
As you ask for comments, I would cut out the vivid mauve flower on the left, if at all possible.
but it may look funny now as the flower is right on the tail of the bee :)
these are the things to watch out for when photographing such small insects.
its difficult because the bee flits around so very fast
it is hard to be thinking of composition all around it besides getting the bee in focus
I see its the macro mode on the camera itself which you used.
I also thought (and I think Frank thought this) that you meant you didn't use any macro at all , until I saw where you said 'tulip mode' and I realised what you meant
thanks Jose and best of luck with all the shots
regards

Thanks a lot for your good comments Marie.
I am not an expert in back processing, but here is what I get following your recommendations.
Never thought that this flower was doing so bad.
Many thanks :)

Great photo. Excellent detail. I also like the vignette frame. The first version has a better composition btw.

I like the photo a lot,. but I'm afraid I don't much care for the frame.

Great photo. Nice detail and color. I personally like the first one before you removed the flower. The frame is okay but it may look better without it or possibly with just a thin black border. Just my 2 cents.
Great picture though.

I think if you use closeup filter like 250D and external flash would have better results

Jose, you have produced a very worthy macro phot. Focus is sharp and your chosen f stop created excellent dof. Very well done!
I like your cropped version much better since the Bee isn't fighting for eye time with the flower anymore, and now really pops out of the photo.
The vignette frame ruins it for me though :(

this is a great capture with no special attachments ;) i agree that the frame in the second photo does no justice to an otherwise great photo.

Jose
Superb shot. I agree with everyone else that the frame is not needed, but the image is excellent.
