Hope someone can help...

I have a website - used a template so I didn't have to do much configuring with it (read... I don't know anything about html...).

I would like to be able to send customers a link to see their proofs on-line. I don't really need to allow them to order - just so they can view and give me the numbers of the prints they want. I can see in PS7 how to create a web-gallery, with thumbnails etc. BUT...
how do I get this up on the internet!!!

I'd like to send them just a link to bring them to see their files.
Can I do this thru my existing template website, or can I do it entirely separately in a stand-alone way.

Dont know if I'm explaining this well - can anyone thro me a life-line!!!

Thanks and regards
Eileen

I asked this same question recently.
You can use your same template to make a new page BUT dont link that template page to your actual site this way the client and you are the only ones who can see the page. You give the client the link to the page and they can see them but the are not public.
Just upload them template with FTP is that what you used on your current site?

Thanks Sonya,
I went back to your previous thread and found several helpful hints there.
At least I have something to work on now - I'll let you know how it goes.

Make a simple album with Jalbum (jalbum.net) and upload the generated folder to your website. Then send the link to the album to your customer.

JAlbum all the way, there are plenty of tutorials for it too.

Never heard of J-album - going on a hunt right now:D .
Thanks guys.

Another good program is Gallery 2.1 which is made for photo posting for photography and is open source and free. Its has a learning curve, but once you figure it out there is alot you can do with it. It is alittle tricky to setup, but you can set up permissions so only certin users can access certain sections and photos. It has a rating & comment sections and also the ability to purchase via paypal for prints. Waterford,PM me if you would like to look at my proofs section to see what it looks like running.

Hope you can help me- Ive recently started doing Theatre Photography. I have created an album (using Porta) but am unsure how to get it onto the web for viewing!
I have an Hotmail account- and apparantly have some free space.
I havnt managed to find (yet) anything there on how to actually do the upload - but shall try again...........in the meantime, if you are able to give me a few pointers I would be very grateful. Anna Warrington
