Question guys. I was very excited about getting the new sd700. Bought one yesterday from Circuit City. Wasn't long before I noticed this tiny purple glowing dot on the lcd. Returned the camera today for a new one. Get home and notice two tiny glowing purple dots on the lcd screen. This is driving me crazy. Is this normal? I hate having spent 500 dollars, and now have to look at those annoying purple dots. Help please.

A new camera definitely should not have that problem. I would keep taking them back until you get a good one. In fact, I wouldn't even leave the store. Open it right there.

I am with Stefan, and my SD700IS has a perfect LCD until now.

Keep opening boxes until you find a good one ...

I'm sure this issue has been resolved, but I had the same problem, likely defective pixels, returned it and got one that doesn't have a dot. Just a whir (see other post)!
