Getting ready to get a photography company started. I am just needing some ideas, advise ,or websites to look at for information on flyers, and marketing. Marketing is my weakness. Any and all help will help.

Thanks,
Richard

Hello Richard,
I looked at your site and it looks pretty good! I would suggest making your content more about what you offer and less about comparing yourself to others. I kinka sounds like your bashing them. Also, there is a program that you can download for free. Its called Page Plus SE and you can get it at www.freeserifsoftware.com. It lets you design you own flyers. As far as marketing, if your focusing on weddings, visit flower shops, cake decorater and such. They will be a big help in sending folks your way.

Sorry Richard, but I have to say I'm not impressed by the website.
1. It's painfully slow in loading images
2. Layout changes when in thumbnail view. Not pro
3. HUGE unbroken paragraphs = loss of attention
4. Cheesy fx on photo's, scream amateur.
5. Not much in terms of photo's that "sell" your business.
6. "Prices" page doesn't show you prices until page two, not very user friendly.
Trust me it will be quite difficult to market yourself when all these factors bombard the user on a subconcious level, odds are they'll look for a cleaner simpler site.

Take this all as constructive criticism because I'm not being overly negative on purpose.

I like the template and colors and that's about it. The website loads WAY too slow and there is too much verbiage. Granted, you may have alot that you want to convey, but you need to do so concisely. In addition, your portfolio appears to be non-existant and your code is bad as there are several pages that will produce errors.

IMO, there are alot of things that a website has to do.

Grab the customer's attention
Keep the customer's attention
Invite the customer to browse more and want to come back.

Unfortunately, while the home page is "nice", the initial slowness associated with it immediately turned me off and everything that followed under delivered.

I dont want to sound snotty or anything specially since I am far from perfect myself, but I looked at your website and all of your pics look more like snapshots than professional pictures. I think you might need to work a little more on your techniques?

I have to add something.. I looked at the site again and this time actually clicked on images to view them big and I really really recommend you to not put your name out as a professional until after you worked more on your photography. If you put your name out with pictures like this you might get bad reviews very fast and mess it up for the future.

Like I said I am not perfect myself but I do think I have some very solid images to present to my clients.

Also I recommend to hire someone to do your site. Your site is very unprofessional, takes forever and just seems "cheap".
I paid $250 to have my site done, icluding a year of hosting space.... WELL worth the money!!!
